About Our Dojo
Within Seisei-kai, Seisei-kai Yokohama is under the supervision of Mr.
Matsuo Masazumi (7th Dan), and Seisei-kai Azamino under the supervision
of Mrs. Matsuo Tizuko (6th Dan), the wife of Mr. Matsuo. Both are the gifted
disciples of Master Terada and the two have worked together closely for
more than 20 years to teach and spread Aikido.
Seisei-kai Yokohama separated from Seisei-kai Azamino in Heisei 14 (year 2000), at a time when the number of pupils increased considerably. Even though the two groups are separate and independent, the pupils of each group can freely take part in the practice of the other.
The practicing place is the physical exercise room of the Azamino Middle School(*). Most of the pupils come from the Aoba District of the Yokohama City, Kanagawa-ken. However, in admiration of the skillful techniques and specific, effective instruction of Mr. and Mrs. Matsuo, pupils also include those who come from other cities of Kanagawa-ken, or even from as far as Tokyo Metropolitan.
Seisei-kai Yokohama warmly welcome all those who are interested in Aikido, including those who are keen to master the martial art Aikido, those who just want keep themselves fit, and those who want to proceed at their own pace, to join us and practice Aikido. In Seisei-kai Yokohama, peoples from different walks of life, men and women, boys and girls, old and young, Japanese and foreigners, are enjoying themselves in practicing Aikido under the intimate instruction of their beloved teacher, Mr. And Mrs. Matsuo.
* The practicing place is now temporality moved to the physical exercise room of the Nakagawa West Middle School till next January, due to the renovation of the Azamino Middle School. |
